Hawkins doesn't deserve a nickname.

$3.75 is really chump change for the Yankees. There aren't really a whole lot of options. I guess they're going with the "if you throw enough s*** at the wall, some of it will have to stick" approach.

If Edwar Ramirez can have his minor league numbers translate to the majors, we'll have a strong back-end of the bullpen. If not, they're going to struggle or hope someone else steps up.

Alright. But Hawkins will blow at least 6 games for you this season. Count on it.

And I don't even hate the guy... I like him even. He does have a good personality. I just saw him regularly in Minnesota and wouldn't want him on my team.

I'm not sure if yesterday counts as, "blowing" the game since the Yankees were already down, but he put any end to the idea of any Yankee Stadium 9th-inning mystique. I'll say Hawkins blew half a game yesterday.

I don't think I ever disagreed that he'd blow games. My only point was that the Yankees don't have any other better options. So if they didn't sign Hawkins, those games would get blown by a guy like Farnsworth (who also looked good yesterday :-P ) or someone else.

I see Hawkins as an innings eater. Hopefully they won't use him in any big situations...but rather in a mop-up role when they are up big or down big so that they can save the arms of their SPs and Joba/Rivera.

I think the latest rumbling from Steinbrenner that he wants Joba in the rotation can be credited, at least in part, to the Hawk being a shut-down guy for the past couple of weeks. And then, of course, once Joba is getting stretched out... WHAM!!! the Hawk of old.

The Hawk's powers... never to be underestimated.

If that ever happened I'd have to watch every game without sound.
