What are some thoughts on Austin Jackson? I've seen some great things on this guy, especially after he went on a rampage in the second half last year. Does anyone have any thoughts on this guy?

I think he's a little overrated, though it's hard to not say that about a prospect from New York or Boston at the moment. I think he's a decent prospect but with 2.5 merely pedestrian seasons followed by a brilliant half season, I'll hold off on anointing him as a great prospect just yet.

I've read that he is possibly the fastest guy in the minors, which I find hard to believe. I like him in fantasy dynasty leagues since he'll obviously be the subject of inflated value in the future. It seems everyone is either a huge fan of his potential or completely the opposite. I know I just took him in minor league draft and am interested in other people's views on the guy.

This guy is not the fastest guy in the minors but with that being said is a very good athlete capable of stealing 40 bases in the majors. He has a great deal of potential but he has a long ways to go to reach that potential. In his prime(assuming he continues to develop)you could be looking at a .280-.310 hitter with 12-20hr and 30-45 steals. A very solid prosepct but not a superstar and playing in NY makes him overhyped, however he would still be a very good prospect in every other teams farm system.

No doubt he's quick, but I don't think he's any faster than Eric Young Jr, John Raynor or Goryks Hernandez, off the top of my head.
Right now I would put Jackson in my 55-65 range. He has some quality tools in his arsenal, but I am far away from being enamoured by him.
He is a solid prospect, though definitely overrated because he is affiliated with a New York team. I'm holding off using minor league stats to judge him until I see whether he had a flash in the pan type run or he legitimately turned a corner.

That's who came to my mind as well.
Austin Jackson had arguably one of the five best season for hitters in high A ball last year, after you consider his age relative to the other guys. That's probably enough to put him into my top 25 for hitters and he may squeeze into the top 50 overall. But he's right on the age of that.
Some good numbers, although that xBH% is a little low:
In my fridge: Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS), Central Waters Peruvian Morning, Bell's Batch 10,000, Dale's Pale Ale, Capital Brewery Amber, New Glarus Moon Man, and Guinness.

My big concern with Austin Jackson is that he's really only excelled for half a season. He has plenty of tools but so far hasn't really produced on those tools. His one good half season of baseball was fueled by an abnormally high BABIP (.395) given his low LD% (11%). That would suggest that his High-A campaign was one more on luck than on skills.
i like his tools but i want to see more proven results then what he has done so far. he seemed to have turned a corner last year but he needs to show me more this season for me to start believing in him. his potential is very high though and i do like him.
He is certainly not the fastest guy in the minors. He has good tools and 1/2 a season of solid production, which makes him extremely overrated by Yankee fans. He has a pretty high ceiling, but right now he is pretty far down in my rankings and does not crack the top 50.
