History Teacher loses "5th Grader" on History Question

Postby dclark0699 » Fri Dec 07, 2007 8:32 pm

Last night I was watching "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader" - they had famous "flunkouts" come back for a second try.

The second contestant was a high school history teacher. He was a history major in college, and lost on a fifth grade history question.

It really looked like he was about to cry. That had to be embarrassing.

So - without looking it up,

"Who was the first chief justice of the supreme court?"

What a horrible show. I unfortunately caught the first few minutes and saw the first flunkout go out AGAIN on the first question...

He couldn't figure out the median of a set of 6 numbers....ohhh mann....

I'm was a history nerd in high school, so that was a fairly easy question to answer. I could understand some people not knowing the answer to that question, but it should've been a gimme for that history teacher.

So what would I have won? :-D

It was the third question or something, so you would have won something like $1,000.

Ah, that show is rubbish. Not surprised to see a so-called history teacher muff such a question. Maybe he was nervous? ;-7

I was a history buff in high school and in college, but only because I've always had a deep memory. Not that I was actually passionate about it.

QFT

You put those same people on a real show that tests intelligence like Jeopardy and those 5th graders would get schooled.
