I've been playing rotisserie baseball for the past 17 years and am hoping to hook up with a league in the Chicago area. I'm a baseball junkie and will put 110% into any new team. I'd be happy to take over a team or start from scratch. I'm used to (and love!) auctions but am fine with a draft as well...
I second that emotion. I would prefer a live auction, but snake-draft is a possibility as well. Please respond to mailto:decaturfightingamish@gmail.com
I've got someone else interested in starting up a new league in the Chicago area for '08. A live auction would be best, but, if we can get a good crowd, can be flexible. If this interests you at all...please respond.
I too am looking for a roto league in the Chicagoland area. Would also be willing to run a new league, as I have run a couple of leagues in the past. If you're interested in a league (either mixed auction or NL only auction), no more than $100 per team stakes, please let me know.
Talked to a few people from this thread already. Seems very possible that we could get a league formed for 2008. I'm of the belief that a low money redraft mixed league makes the most sense for the first year, since no one would really know each other, and the goal should be to make an easy going fun league which breeds camaraderie (sp?) rather than an intense firefight of a league, ya know?
Anyhow, here's what I have in mind (flexible about almost everything).
Daily transactions (more fun) $30 - $50 entry with no transaction fees ML player pool (makes a more inviting league for a newer type of roto player) If an NL or AL only league, not more than 10 teams (see above) Live auction, in person not online, $260/23 players (draft day is the best day of the season) Snake draft would be acceptable. Standard 5x5 (I like OB% in place of BA, but that's just me) Roto scoring, not H2H or points. Standard rosters
I'm sure I'm missing some, but my head's still in football mode, despite my horrible team. Feel free to contact me if interested.
How would transaction be handled. One thing I do not like about daily transaction leagues is that free agents become a first come, first served battle and some people have advantages based on their work/life schedules.
I like daily transactions for lineups, but not necessarily for free agent pickups.

I like daily transaction leagues for sure -- if FA pickups are a problem, just fix the waivers to 2 days so it's based on waiver priority, not first come first serve
