I have to agree with the previous statements that the Mets could have gotten a better deal from Oakland given Billy Beane's man crush on Milledge.

I have to say this makes the Delmon trade look almost good, though both are horrible ...

Do the Mets GM's not have to take an I.Q. test or anything??? It really should be mandatory with the gems they are making these days.

Having to trade the best pitcher in the game because you can't afford to keep him still has to hurt. I couldn't imagine try to put a positive spin on something like dealing away David Wright for Evan Longoria and some others.

The Twins can afford to keep Santana, however, unfortunatley for them there are some teams with the wearwithall to overpay for whoever they want (yes I know JS will be had via trade, but it is still about the $$$).

My 2 cent...this Milledge deal sucks. We now have 2 Endy Chavezes and 3 catchers, all equally sucky, but if played in the magically right moment, one is a bit better at hitting, one fielding, and the other a scapegoat for a nearly horrendous potentially shady Torrrealba deal gone awry.

Well let me start by saying that I think Milledge is another over hyped prospect. I don't think Milledge will ever be a star. However will acknowledge that he could be a star. Now the Mets get Schneider and Church, oh brother. Schneider is a run of the mill catcher and Church well Church makes a good 4th OFer. As much as I think Milledge is over rated, I still have to say this is a great trade for the Nats. The Mets should have dealt Milledge a year or two ago while his value was high. Terrible trade for the Mets.

Uh Omar, Shea is a huge stadium too... :-D

The bottom line is I think that overall Omar pissed off a lot of fans yesterday.
