I would have thought the Mets would go after pitching if they were going to let Milledge go...

Schneider sucks and I'd rather have Milledge than Church. I don't understand this one.

Hmm, don't really understand what Minaya was thinking, but I heard that Milledge's attitude problems lowered his trade value.

I am having the same reaction to this trade as I did when I first heard the Kazmir trade. It doesn't make sense at all.

as a ranger fan I am pretty upset they didnt beat this offer, and they could have. we desperately need a good young OF.

Weve been trying to trade laird all offseason, and he is more valuable than schneider, and church shouldnt have been that hard to match.

I don't think the trade is as bad as some of you are making it to be.
While Schneider is close to an automatic out, he has been one of the best catcher in the NL fielding wise.
Ryan Church has an underrated bat (pretty amazing road splits) and provides very good defense for a corner OF.

I still wouldn't have done the deal because one shouldn't be trading away a young 5-tool player for fill-in players, but this certainly improves the Mets O and D for next season.
