Wasn't a massive fan of Cheers either, but Sam hands down had the better character over Bart in my opinion.

Bart: What a day, eh, Milhouse? The sun is out, birds are singing, bees are trying to have sex with them -- as is my understanding

Bart: I never thought it was humanly possible, but this both sucks and blows.

Bart: There's no such thing as a soul. It's just something they made up to scare kids, like the boogeyman or Michael Jackson.

Bart: Christmas is a time when people of all religions come together to worship Jesus Christ.

Bart: What's Santa's Little Helper doing to that dog? Looks like he's trying to jump over, but he can't quite make it.

To this day I can't believe the Simpsons is on TV. Pop Culture schlock at its worst. Ugh. :-P

To echo what many have said already, I love the Simpsons, but Bart was by far the worst of the characters. I went with the sober bar tender and ex-Red Sox pitcher. :-D

Sammy, although I would have rather seen Norm in the tourney. ;-D

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Let's face it. The Simpsons was an okay show that broke some boundaries when Bart, the rapscallion, was the focus of the show. Once the show switched its focus to Homer's hilarious antics, the show became immortal. Sam was one of the defining personalities of Cheers, and the show would not have been nearly as good without him. I don't know that I can say the same for Bart. As iconic as he is, I think the attention is misplaced.
