That is a very optimistic outlook... I think he could return to being a top 5 closer for 2009 but for 2008 even if he plays from ST on I think it will take some time to get it together. Unless he actually does play in ST and pitches effectively I wont be drafting him at all, but I will be watching the situation as a Jays fan and be ready to pick him off waivers as soon as he gets into form.

As I said if my drafts were today I wouldn't pick him at all, not even as a late round flyer. He is very much a wait and see.

The Blue Jays are optimistic that B.J. Ryan, who underwent Tommy John surgery last May, will be ready to go on Opening Day.

"It's been nine months now since the surgery," GM J.P. Ricciardi said. "He threw his second bullpen recently. Until I'm told different, he'll be with us in spring training and ready to start the season. If we have to hold him back a month based on what we see, we'll do that."

Just a follow up on what was said before.

Ryan is scheduled to pitch in ST so we'll have a better idea of his status before the season starts. If you are drafting now and got Ryan I'd want to pick up Accardo too.
