Mayweather proved a class apart. Probably his best fight in years and the KO was nice, from his POV. However, I do think the ref spoiled things a bit, especially early on, Hatton needed to be allowed to fight on the inside, and he wasn't, although Floyd proved he could also mix it on the inside. The point he took away was BS too. Also, Hatton was fighting at the wrong weight, his power wasn't as impressive at this weight and Floyd's power surprised him.

Mayweather clearly the better fighter though.

This was one of the better bouts of late. I agree that early, the ref disturbed the flow of the fight and it benefited PBF. After the tone had been set, he backed off and the flow of the fight was better. I didn't see anything wrong with the point deduction for the blow to the back of head, even though the blow didn't land cleanly. Hatton deserved the reduction for stupidity if for no other reason.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

Thought it was a pretty decent fight too. Hatton put up the kind of fight I expected him to, but Floyd figured him out and am glad to see he wasn't as defensive as he was against De La Hoya in the later rounds. Floyd proved he could one-up Hatton inside and did.

Good fight, but all that I gotta say is that it wasn't worth 55 bucks.
