Can't say I hate Friends, but I can't stand Chandler on the show. I don't know X-Files much, but my wife used to love the show so I'll vote for the Mulder guy. What kind of name is Fox?
Friends was pretty damn funny up until Chandler and Monica got together, then it was like watching a 30 minute romantic comedy every week, you know, the ones that usually star Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant and she's a court reporter and he's on trial for murder, or a lawyer and they somehow fall in love
anyway, Chandler has his funny moments but then he turned into a huge douche (not as big a douche as Ross...he could challenge Tony Robbins for biggest douche in the universe) but that was enough to taint my image of him...like Wade Boggs in a D-rays uniform

I really like both shows. I've seen every Friends episode probably five times over. For me, Friends may have been the last "must see" network show. About the time it went off the air I had a child and other life circumstances that pretty much make watching network TV impossible. I used to laugh like a buffoon at Friends.
Still, I really, really liked X-Files. So I went with Mulder.

Seriously.
When I was in college I was sitting watching a show with my girlfriend at the time, and one of my roommates came in and was like, "God this show is so awful." I had seen a ton of episodes but never really followed the main plots etc. so I was like, "I don't mind it, it's pretty funny, why do you hate it?" He muttered, "I've never seen it..." and walked out.
