I understand your concerns, but I would like to help you get off the fence on him. Once thing that jumped out at me when I looked at his 2007 numbers were his solid to great output against his divisional opponents. That's 70ish games a year.
vs. BOS 20-70 (.286) 4HR 12RBI 14 Runs in 18 games
vs. NYY 29-72 (.403) 2HR 13RBI 15 Runs in 17 games
vs. TOR 25-72(.347) 3HR 11 RBI 12 Runs in 18 games
vs. TB 21-67 (.313) 4HR 16RBI 8 Runs in 18 games
That's a total of 95-281 (.338) 13 HR 52 RBI 49 Runs in 71 games.
Couple those stats with a strong home hitters park and Markakis should be able to recreate his numbers in '08.
