Good analysis though, I agree with most of your points!
They will be drafted close to each other, but when it comes down to it I wouldn't draft Beckett over Sabathia. Things that have already been mentioned in this thread pretty much sum up how I feel.

I take CC also. I think that 240+ innings caught up to him in the alcs while beckett had 200+. However I watched CC outduel santana a few times during the regular season last year, and santana is usually the measuring stick.

I'm surprised to read this from a Red Sox fan.
He's likes the Red Sox about as much as I like the Yankees.
Doubt this will be popular opinion, but I think they both have something to prove in '08. Can Beckett repeat his '07 regular season and despite winning the Cy Young, can CC prove doubters wrong after his ineffectiveness in the postseason? I agree that they will both go higher than I would like to draft them in my league, probably mid-third round, but I don't think you lose either way. If it were up to me, even as a Sox fan, I would probably grab CC before Beckett. I like the fact that he outpitched Santana in their head-to-head matchups last season and I also like the idea that he is pitching for a big contract.

And I thought the little note clarified why the Sox sig was up.
