Actually that is a pretty good signing for the cubs. He looked pretty effective last yr coming out of the bullpen and they already have invested quite a bit in him. I think he has a pretty good shot at taking over as closer this yr.

I dont get it? This was a steal by the cubs.

The guy hasn't played a whole season in a billion years and continues to dissapoint. I can't count the amount of times i've heard. "He'll probably close" only to see him get injured for the season again

I didn't read it as "re-signs" I read it as resigns. As in retires; quits.

1 year, 4.2 million dollars is chump change in baseball. I don't really see the harm of bringing back a possibly nice bullpen arm for a year to see if he pans out. It's not like he's signed for 3 years, 13 million.

I predicted Wood would be closing in 07. It didn't happen but he should excel in the bullpen if he doesn't blow out his arm.

Thats a MASSIVE IF btw. And 4 million buys you a decent player. Thats way to much for a guy who NEVER has been able to stay healthy and who has taken a ton of your money.

He's not worth more then 2mill

He is definitely worth 4 mil based on what he can do. That is not that much money in MLB. You can't even get a bench player on a 1 year deal like that.
