Jacoby Ellsbury card sell for $1,050 !!

This thread was the first thing I thought of when I saw the Ellsbury to Minn rumor.

That's weird.

His card values drop if he heads west.

I still collect and do enjoy it. Just don't get wrapped up in the up and downs of the hobby and it is still quite fun.

In fact, I really like the game used cards they've been making the past several years. You can pick many of them up for a $1 to $2 a piece. I'm planning on displaying them along my game room wall as a border (in protective holders, of course). But, I'm doing something really risky. I'm not worrying about whether the sun shines on them or what type of lighting is in the room!!! The horror!!!

I stopped collecting too, but I do go down to the card store once in awhile and look for rookie cards to add to my collection. I have a couple binders full of rookies and I think that's a lot of fun to keep up with. Although, they made it harder to get rookies in the sets that look nice so I stopped buying packs. Pretty much they took all of the fun out of the hobby. I can't believe that they haven't turned that around because nobody buys these things anymore. Right?
