I think it's ok. All of the Showtime shows have good characters but so-so writing IMO.

I watch the show for Charlie and Marcy.

Everyone else could probably fall off a cliff and I wouldn't care.

I am disappointed that Hank and Karen get back together. We'll see how it works but Hank just seems like a character that needs his tragedy to work. I'm not sure the whole rehabilitation thread we'll have the same allure.

It looks like the writers just figured that out. Sure enough, today's 4th episode, the episode where they breakup, was by far the best one in this season so far. Hopefully it starts going in a positive direction from here, because the first 3 episodes took a pretty big step back in quality.

It's still funny, but I can't see how they can keep it up for more seasons without going in the direction the Nip/Tuck did (dumber and dumber, and further out storylines/sexual things that happen).

Yeah I don't like this season as much as last. I like the Ashby character a lot though. It's weird seeing him in a "normal" role after Battlestar Galactica.
