I'm part of a club at Syracuse University that puts on an annual Charity Sports Auction. For the past two years we have donated the funds raised to the Boy's and Girl's Club of Syracuse (in two years we have given them about 50,000). We had about 400 sports items last year and Bill Walton was the guest speaker. We also gave out an award to Alexei Salamone who was injured in the accident at Chernobyl (sp?) but has become a great sled hockey player for Team USA. The yr before that we gave an award to Jason Mcelwain (the autistic kid who was the manager of the basketball team and on senior night they put him in the game. He scored a game-high 20 points in only 3 minutes).
This yr we are again soliciting items. If anyone here knows anybody in the sporting industry that might donate an item or they wish to donate an item themselves, don't hesitate to send me a PM or post in this thread. As you can see, it goes to a great cause and any help would be appreciated. If you are interested in donating or know somebody that might, I can send you/them an auction donation form and a letter explaining the auction (all with SU letterhead).
