Will Matt Murton get more AB's in 2008? He had a decent rookie seaon in 2006 with over 450 AB's, but was limited to about 230 AB's in 2007. Given the oportunity , I think he could put up 80/20/80/.280/ 6 SB's. Will he get a shot at starting in 2008?

That looks like a reasonable ceiling for him, but personally, I'd rather see him get dealt. He's a halfway decent fielder with minimal power and minimal speed, though he does have the potential to hit for high average and OBP. With Soriano in Left and Fukodome in right, I don't see any room for Thunder Matt, and he can't really play center. If Baltimore wants him, I'd have no problem with the Cubs giving up Murton, Gallagher, and someone else for Roberts or Bedard.
(taps little picture of a microphone)... is this thing on?

What do you mean someone else?
Soriano or a low A player noone ever heard of? Maybe an Iowa bat boy will do.
Its too easy to say "and someone else".

As a cub fan I would like that Murton+Gallagher "and someone (who'll never reach the majors) else" for Bedard, but I dont think that the O's organization is run by idiots. They will ask a lot more.

Murton has to get traded. There is no place for him on the team, even without Roberts supplanting DeRosa. Ward and Fuld are OF backups, as is DeRosa with any combination of Theriot, Cedeno, and Fontenot filling in when he's not starting.
