When I heard this I cussed him out and now his kids are going to be trick or treating with mine. Not only was he wrong (some say that halloween has religious roots - you can debate this one to death) but you don't want your kids to be left out of all of the fun and blame the baby Jesus do you?
I had an ultra-Catholic algebra teacher back in high school (which is oddly a Catholic school) who also thought Halloween wasn't OK for the same exact reasons. So, instead of greeting everyone "Happy Halloween", he said "Happy All Saints Day".
It was quite amusing to see his reaction to one of my friends who bathed himself in blood.
Happy Halloween everyone. I haven't dressed up for Halloween in ages because all I have to do is put on a ninja outfit and I'll look like Bruce Lee and that gets old. Anyone actually dressing up for Halloween?
