Damn that was not a fun day yesterday. One of the fires was appx 10 miles from my house and I packed up my car, ready to roll if it headed towards us. Luckily that fire was contained last night and the big fire is south east of us so hopefully we are out of the woods. So weird seeing ashes on my street. Hopefully the winds will die down and they put out the existing fire soon.

Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
You live in SoCal, Yoda? Thought you lived up north for some reason.
My uncle lives in Canyon Country and according to him, the fire is in NW Canyon Country and not in NE Canyon Country where he lives. Says the fire is a few miles away, but still that's too close for comfort.

Insane! Hope everything turns out well for you. I heard that the winds were supposed to die down today. No more 50 mph gusts, hopefully. That should give those firefighters a chance to get ahead of those flames finally, right?

Yeah, the winds are dying down a bit (gusts more like 30-35 mph from what I know), but give or take, we have about a day or two to put up with all the Santa Ana winds. Thankfully, it's not as hot as it was yesterday.
Wow. I really need to find time to check out the news more often. Thanks for the link Lo!
Good luck Yoda, hopefully the fire will get under control today.

Thanks for the kind words. It is still crazy right now. We are about 5 miles from the fire, in the middle of La Costa golf course: http://www.signonsandiego.com/firemap/
Word is, it is headed directly towards us right now. Half of the people I know has evacuated and some lost their homes already.

Yeah, the wildfires in Northern SD are the worst going on right now. Yikes, best of luck, Yoda. Hope the fire doesn't spread as fast and that the firefighters can slow the fire down.
