Maybin has the higher ceiling, but Rasmus is much closer to his ceiling then Maybin is at this point. Rasmus will be a very good player in his years. Maybin could be great if he reaches his ceiling, but I wonder if he ever reaches it. I like Rasmus a bit better then Maybin at this point.
Maybin hits the ball on the ground way too much. I couldn't find the statistic, but I'm very certain his Line Drive% is close to 10, which is a very low number. He certainly has all the "tools" you look for in a player to rise to a very high level, and his ceiling is as such, but I have no reason to believe he will ever reach it. Regardless, he is a top 10 talent.
Rasmus raked, and suffered a pretty bad illness this year that did affect his play to a degree. He is better in every way up against Maybin. He is right behind Jay Bruce for the top prospect spot.
Maybin has the higher ceiling, think superstar, but Rasmus has a more likely chance of reaching his All Star ceiling. Give me one and I want Maybin, but I wouldn't argue if I was forced to take Rasmus. They're both great prospects
Maybin has a good shot at starting in Florida to begin 08'. I like both players quite a bit but am extremely high on Maybin, especially now that he is with the Marlins, who seem to somehow bring out the best in young players (outside of Hermida..).
