I've read a few of the threads here and there seems to be some concern on Jay Bell's return and how that will effect Spivey's playing time. Since I live out in AZ and am a huge Dbacks fan I thought I would shed some light on the situation and give you guys some inside info.

Spivey is playing WAY too good for Bell to straight out replace him. Sure Spivey has had a few bad games, who hasnt, but he's been a spark plug this year. The organization really likes him too. Which is key. So it boils down to this, I wouldnt worry at all about Bell returning. I think he'll be riding the bench when/if he comes back. I personally wouldnt mind see him not coming back at all.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info! ;-D

One more question: if (make that IF) Bell is healthy again and looks good, do you see him cutting in to Counsell's playing time? Thanks!

I'm not so sure about that. The reason is that they have to cut someone when Bell comes back (hope he doesnt) and it depends on who they cut. I think they will cut Donnels who has recieved some time over at third. That would give Bell the opportunity to play once in a while.

Overall, I dont see Counsell's playing time being cut untill Williams returns. Then they will have some serious decisions to make with Spivey/Williams/Counsell.

Agreed, Donnels sounds like the logical choice. Interesting situation. Williams (and Bell) returning, Durazo expected to see more playing time, Mantei's return... wonder how the players will handle all this in the clubhouse?
