The Braves have a major announcement scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET.

It's expected that longtime GM John Schuerholz is stepping down and being replaced by his assistant, Frank Wren.

Schuerholz took over as GM in 1990 and the team won 14 straight division titles before struggling the past two seasons.

Huge blow for the Braves

Huge loss for the Braves. Looks like the Braves are starting to head downhill a bit. Wren has a tough task ahead of him.

Wow...was there much mention of this in Atlanta? I'd heard nothing about this until now.

If he came to St. Louis, I would change my tone about the current ownership by 180 degrees.

A guy can hope, right? !+)

Like ScarletP said

JS isnt leaving the Braves or "stepping down", he will become the new President of the Braves. They are having a press conference about it in 20 min on Sports South (330pm EST). The new owner says he has "many things to say."

Scarred me at first, but I'm ok with it now.
