Geovany Soto C CHC - 95 - PLC MVP in '07 - Great defensive catcher. didn't do much offensively until '07. Came into Spring in great shape having dropped 20+ pounds since the previous season. Should break spring as the Cubs starting Catcher.
Engel Beltre OF TEX - 46 - speedy w/ room to gain some power.
Jordan Schafer OF ATL - 51 - Grady Sizemore comparisons.
Chase Headley 3B SD - 52
Oscar Tejada SS BOS - 61 - Gap Power. Has the tools to stay at SS. 17yr.
Eric Patterson 2B CHC - 83 - Cubs top 2B prospect had a solid '07 season. I also saw EPatt play a few times when Iowa came to Memphis. He still has some filling out to do. Should endup w/ some pretty good pop for a 2B. Good speed on the base paths.
Franklin Morales P COL -27
Luke Hochevar P KC - 35 - I actually had the pleasure of watching Luke pitch when he came to memphis in august. Tall lanky guy. hums it in there pretty hard. He gave up several hits and looked very hittable overall. The Royals have pushed him hard, so his stuff may still be trying to catch up w/ the level of play. Scouts see him as a #2 or #3 type pitcher down the road.
Matthew Latos P SD - 64 - Ace potential.
Jordan Walden P LAA - 76 - Top of the rotation potential.
Jonathan Sanchez P SF
Manny Parra P MIL - 99 - Injury riddled past. Great '07 season.
Jeffrey Manship P MIN - 89 - Best rated Curve ever coming out of HS. Injury sidelined him and hurt his draft status. Looked very good in '07 season.
Cole Rohrbough P ATL - 80 - High upside. Excellent control of sharp knuckle curve. Low 90's FB gets so much movement it is hard to control at times.
Julio Teheren P ATL - 202 - Considered top latin pitching talent from '07 signings. Plus-plus change up. Plus FB hits the mid 90's. Developing Curve. 16yr.old
Adam Miller P CLE - 91 - High profile pitcher has battled injuries. Looks destined for bullpen.
Adam Ottavino P STL - 128 - #30 overall pick in '06 draft. 6'5"215lb. Scouts project as #3 starter. +Slider
Joakim Soria P KC
Brandon Erbe P BAL - 183 - Rough '07
Zachary Britton P BAL
Matt Sweeney 1B LAA
Joel Guzman 3B TB -168
Terry Evans OF LAA
The guys I would cut are at the bottom. Miller can be argued, but he's too fragile for my liking and looks to be going to the pen. I had several of these guys ranked from a dynasty draft I was just in, so I put what I had them rank beside them.
