New Radiohead Album!

Postby Another Blown Save » Mon Oct 01, 2007 4:41 pm

Radiohead have made a shock announcement - their new album will be released in just 10 days time and will be entitled In Rainbows.

The record will be released as a download version first of all, while a physical "discbox" verson will follow on December 3rd - this set includes a CD as well as two heavyweight 12" vinyls, as well as a second CD featuring more songs, photographs and artwork.

Even more of a shock, Radiohead have left the price for the download version blank - meaning fans can choose how much they wish to pay for In Rainbows. Meanwhile, the discbox is ready for pre-order at £40.

Further info on the discbox reveals that the set also includes lyric booklets and will be encased in a hardback book and slipcase.

Rainbow have set-up this special In Rainbows website where you can order both formats - although fans won't be able to download the album until October 10th.

In Rainbows Track listing:

01. 15 Step
02. Bodysnatchers
03. Nude
04. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
05. All I Need
06. Faust Arp
07. Reckoner
08. House Of Cards
09. Jigsaw Falling Into Place

Discbox Bonus CD Track Listing:

I actually was just about to post this. Instead I now get to write a smarty-pants response instead. Thanks!

Since I'm allowed to name my own price, how does -$100 sound?

Trent Reznor wants to do something like this with their next album as well, after he saw the price of Year Zero in Australia.

That is one of the ways that Radiohead is pretty much guaranteed to come out profitable on the deal even if the vast majority decide to pay nothing for the downloads. An $80 box set loaded with different formats and collectibles for one of the most highly regarded bands out there will definitely sell.

I saw this yesterday and I'm pretty excited. I wasn't expecting this album until next year...now I can get it for free!

I just don't get Radiohead. They're like Dane Cook to me. I just shake my head and wonder how they got so popular. Why is it so cool to like them?

Awesome, I didn't even realize it was cool to like them. This means I can finally admit the White Stripes are a load of crap and still retain my coolness.
