Every mock draft I have been in Sosa is being taken way before Wells & even in the 1st round. This by the way are 14 team mock drafts. wells is a better producer in a 5x5 roto not hth player. Sosa never steals bases even though Wells doesn't steal many he gets the nod.BA Wells will break 300 again Sosa will not reach 300. Wells scores tons of runs edge Wells-Wells drives in more runs. What are we left with -Hrs Sosa will NEVER do what he did years ago. Say he hits over 40 Wells will hit over 30.Edge & the only edge Sosa gets is Hrs. Wells is the better selection.Your thoughts ?

I would go Wells over Sosa.
Especially if its a league with K's.

I would agree with you on Vernon Wells. Sosa is still a great producer but I think he's one of those players that gets more hype than he deserves.

Wells based on merit. Considering that you can get him with a lower pick makes him even more appealing vice Sammy.

Sosa for one more year. He has more protection this year batting around him than he had last year. He should rebound with 45-50 HR and 115 RBI. He may even approach 300 again. Wells is more certain to give very good but not exceptional numbers. Sosa could be Sosa one more time.

I think Wells is the perfect #2 outfielder. What is the average round you have seen him go in?

Wells is a # 1 OF. if you have him as your # 2 in a non-keeper you must have taken an elite OF in the first round
welcome home andy

I'd go with Sosa. He's a proven guy who can hit 50 HRs and will be comparable w/ Wells in RBIs, BA and may pass him in Runs.
Wells is a young stud, but he doesn't have the proven power like Sammy.

I agree he is #1 caliber OF, but he is towards the bottom of the A list and would make an awesome #2. Last year he was ONE of the biggest steals in my fantasy leagues. The real question is who is this years Vernon wells?
