What guys are good back-up catchers for $1 in a 12-team, $260 cap, mixed league?

8-o LoDuca as a backup C for $1 in a mixed 12 team league? Does this league have any openings?

I dont know about a dollar but if you can slip Lecroy in cheap he would be a good starter or backup and might go cheaper than he should.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

If you had to choose between LoDuca and Burroughs in a keeper, and you already had Pierzynski, so this is for a backup spot, who would you take?

LeCroy would be a great pick-up for a buck if you can get him that late. There are several here at the Cafe who don't care much for Robby Hammock, but I think he'll go pretty cheap in most auctions. Both LeCroy and Hammock give some good position flexibility.

Michael Barrett might be a pretty good late round cheapie too. Don't expect much from him offensively, he'll probably disappoint you if you do, but they predict he will be a good hitter at some point.

Paul Bako always seems to get a ton of fantasy points with all the at bats he gets :-b

I would love to get Mauer as a back up catcher this year in my keeper league. I have no idea where he is going to go in the draft though.

I am going to keep an eye on Martinez and Olivo, the two hyped youngsters from last year, they will be cheap and easy to pick I believe.
