Feilder is about a .275 - .285 hitter, but most would be cool with him as their 1B.

The problem with that comparison is that Pena's probably not a legit .275 - .285 hitter. He's never shown an ability to hit for average and the only reason his average on the season looks good is because he hit .356 in May. In the other months he hit .213, .253, .265, .267.
Do you really think he'll hit .270 or better next year?
Most likely I will avoid him due to the short track record and his age but he's been fantastic this year and there is no reason why, given his talent, coudln't repeat.

exactly and not only that, but the fact that he come up with big expectations (just like prince) and then fizzled out for a few years before actually producing a fantasy relevant season (unlike prince) makes me feel uncomfortable about him.
D-Rays have a tendency to have players have career years on their team and fade away, Ty Wiggington, Travie Lee, Aubrey Huff, Jorge Cantu, even a washed up Tino Martinez put up respectable #'s with them for a short time. Certainly his season has been the best of all the previously mentioned, but I wouldn't jump on his wagon too quickly, I'd air on the side of caution with him.
It would be interesting to see if the Drays would try to move him this offseason. I bet they could get a decent amount back considering the poor 1B FA this offseason.
