Clay Buchholz - rested for the rest of the season?

KFFL:

Red Sox | Buchholz could sit the rest of the season
Tue, 4 Sep 2007 12:13:50 -0700

Mel Antonen, of USA Today, reports Boston Red Sox SP Clay Buchholz could be rested for the remainder of the season after throwing a season-high 115 pitches in his no-hitter Saturday, Sept. 1. Buchholz was filling in for SP Tim Wakefield (back), who missed his last start. The team also might want to rest Buchholz's arm so they do not wear it out.

Yeah, I just read this. I hope this is not true as I was pretty excited to get him off FA. Unfortunately the Red Sox can afford to rest him for the rest of the season.

From that same link, but approximately 5 hours later:

Red Sox | Buchholz moved to the bullpen
Tue, 4 Sep 2007 17:56:14 -0700

The Associated Press reports Boston Red Sox P Clay Buchholz will pitch from the bullpen for the remainder of the season, despite throwing a no-hitter in his second start. Buchholz is 20 innings away from pitching a career-high, so the Red Sox do not want to wear out his arm with a month remaining in the season plus playoffs.

Well, I could always use another good middle reliever, especially if gets Hold chances.

From what I read earlier today it sounds like he'll be pitching out of the bullpen, but could make 1 or 2 more starts at some point.

He had a pretty useful 3 innings last night 1 hit, 2 BB in a 6-6 game. Had the bases loaded with no out and got a DP and K'd Millar to get out of it unscathed. ;-D
Got the W as well.
