and iwamura while good and still getting used to the league is still not the youngest of people.
yes i agree on some OF help because hell delmon hasnt had a day off yet.
and another C yes.
and deff bullpen help which is our biggest concern.
but i say lock up what we have first. dont even let them get a chance at the market.
and let pena play next year, if he repeats and enjoys himself then give him a bigger contract but make it one where he has to be consistent not one where he signs and just sucks it up.

Delmon has had more days off than I can count, thats a problem i have had with them is not letting them play more often. The OF help will be Gomes ( ), Ruggiano , Guzman , and hopefully Rocco

The Catchers i disagree with. Navarro has looked better and better, Paul is the Vet we need behind the plate, Jaso should be up soon if he plays well in AFL, and we still have Riggans who is young and good

We need pitching and a better defensive SS as a stop gap to Reid

he may have payed 145, but they werent all in the field. I also seem to remember some guy playing a lot of games in a row, it was a record or something, i think he was pretty good.

Guzman weak glove in OF? You seen him play out there, b/c i have not. I have heard he was decent in OF (RUMP may know since he has seen him play OF in Durham)

Reid does have a good bat and will be up probably next september or the ST after that, we need a defensive replacement for now since our D has been horrible this year

Yes, dipping into Japan again could be a good thing. I doubt there is any pitchers that would be useful to us, but the SS market this year is a bit dry, and we could use a bit more infield presence. If there is a do it all type of guy like Iwamura available in Japan, I see no reason why we pass on him if the price is right like Iwamura was. Having too much depth is not a bad thing and with our minor league bats drying up fast(really on Brignac and Longoria can have an impact in the next year or so), we could use the depth.

Which is the exact same thing I said. Locking up Kazmir needs to be our most important offseason maneuver.


As far as Guzman, his glove is not great. He could become useful in the OF, but the playing time there will be sporadic. I still think Guzman could be a serviceable player but not in a part time role, and with our outfield loaded, the PT would be part time.

whats even more impressive was how he strugged at the begining of the year and still managed to get the title
