Yeah and think how many happy meals that much money could satisfy. Come to think of it Between my two boys I probably have $1200 worth of happy meal toys I could sell on ebay to fund my team.
I checked out the website (http://www.wcofb.com) and it sounds like Sporting News will be following the WCOFB tournament and posting regular updates on the standings; sweeeeeeeet.
It's just a matter of time until fantasy baseball players get groupies and endorsement deals. (Errr, so *that's* why they call it 'fantasy'.)
Someone advertised on the WCOFB site (that he wanted a partner. wcofb.com and then click on the message board link). So if you've got $600 or so burning a hole in your pocket . . . .
NFBC is the one to go with. Three live drafts, simultaneously, in Chicago, NY, and Las Vegas on 3/20. 15 team, 5x5 roto, NO TRADING! Each league winner gets $5,000 with a chance at 100K. They are looking at 30 leagues, 450 teams. Just about all the Nat'l fantasy mag writers, editors, etc., plus Nat'l web sites and pronosticars (sp) have teams. In addition, I noticed some "celebs" are involved. From cking web-site, looks as tho the leagues will be filled if not close. The entry fee is $1250.00. The best against the best.
