Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers avoided arbitration with Guillermo Mota on Wednesday, signing the relief pitcher to a one-year contract.
The 30-year-old Mota went 6-3 for the Dodgers last season with a 1.97 ERA and one save in 76 games.
"Guillermo has developed into one of the dominant relievers in the game," said executive vice president and general manager Dan Evans. "He has been a vital piece of our bullpen over the last two seasons and we are excited to see his continued improvement."
In five major league seasons with Montreal and Los Angeles, Mota has compiled an 11-14 record with a 3.53 ERA over 252 appearances.
