I'd go with the Jeter side, Clemens doesn't post numbers that good, and the rest are throw-ins. If you picked up some starters like Lawrence, Fogg or Byrd go with Jeter and let those guys get a few wins and solid stats.

Realistic trade.

Looks like the two teams are filling needs. Probably the team gettting Clemens needs a proven #1 starter and likes Uribe's average and his home field. The team getting Jeter needs a STUD SS and must have other solid pitchers. Schmidt is an injury risk and Ritchie is average so far on a good team. Doesn't seem fishy, just filling needs, which is the purpose of trades.

I'm out! ;-D

Agree with mktgteach - if both sides are filling needs, both could profit.

The kicker here is Schmidt, whose value could be anywhere from elite starter (doubtful, but see last year's stats with SF) to zilch (if he fails to make a full recovery). How he performs will determine which side profits more.

Also, I think Estes is just a tad weak as the third player team A gets. Certainly not enough to make this deal one-sided, but he looks like the odd man out in this trade.
