I don't get what she's saying and there's no reason to say it.
The first thought that came to mind is that it would justify continuing the war on terror and that we would be better off continuing with a Republican president.

It would only prove that to people who think logically.
I think she's right.
Most voting Americans would revert right back to the post-9/11 retardation where if you say anything that can be taken as a slight against the current presidency or even the party in office then you are somehow anti-American. They will be paralyzed with fear and not steer from the status quo. Voting conservative is "safe," and voting for liberals would just be inviting more terror.
Now that 9/11 is far enough away in the rear-view and the War on Terror has been unpopular, it's trendy to vote in another direction. But once there's another attack I think we'll just repeat the past.
You're right about there being no reason to say it, though. It's a statement that's just inviting people to pick it apart and shed a bad light. You have to say happy things like I'm the best one for the job!
that's how i thought about it too, you'd get the whole Larry The Cable Guy Rah-Rah Red State Brigade vote
If there was a terrorist attack, the voters would 1) push for a stronger Patriot Act, 2) commit to stay in Iraq longer (many people still associate terrorists=Iraq), 3) increase defense spending and 4) look the other way when talking about our prison camps. All that favors the GOP.
"And so he spoke, and so he spoke, that lord of Castamere. But now the rains weep o'er his hall, with no one there to hear." - The Rains of Castamere
Terrorist attack = fear. Fear = The GOP's (neocons) best friend.
And if anyone follows the stock market they'd know that recently there's been a large put option placed on the DOW. The unidentified investor(s) would make billions upon a terrorist attack and subsequent recession. Same thing happened last time.
