Pujols Injures Hamstring

Postby JTWood » Fri Aug 24, 2007 8:42 am

Surprisingly, I haven't really seen this mentioned in many of the news outlets, but you Pujols owners might want to keep an eye on it since he's playing hurt.

StlToday.com wrote:During his first at-bat Wednesday, Pujols felt a bite in the back of his right leg, not far from where a wallet would be. A few pitches later he hit his 30th homer but had to trot gingerly around the bases. Playing through chronic hamstring soreness all season, Pujols talked his way into staying in the game but left the ballpark unsure if he'd be capable of walking comfortably Thursday — let alone play.

Tightness in his right hamstring dissipated through the day and when he was able to chase his toddler daughter around, Pujols said he knew, with treatment, he'd be able to start against Florida.

Rotoworld wrote:Albert Pujols, nursing a hamstring injury, was removed from Thursday's game after six innings with the Cardinals down 8-1.

Pujols was due to get at least one more chance to homer in a sixth straight game, but it was decided that his health was more important than the streak. Pujols may get a full day off at some point this weekend.
