Maybe it's just Rotoworld reading too much between the lines, but hey:
Manager Joe Torre indicated Wednesday that Mike Mussina could be in danger of losing his rotation spot after back-to-back ugly outings.
"We're going to talk," Torre said. "After his next start we're going to talk. The ability to pitch and pitch well is there somewhere. We just need to get it out."
Not a fan of the Yanks, but when I read this it might as well have said that Clemens was heading to the bullpen it came as such a surprise. Just can't imagine a guy like Mussina, with his long starter history, trying to save the pinstripes from blowing it in the 7th or 8th.
Nothing in that quote really says that Mussina has any danger of losing the spot, it sounds more like Torre wants to talk to him to try to get him back on track mentally. I think rotoworld is searching for news.
This is ESPN and rotoworld making things up. No chance in hell Mussina goes to the bullpen. Who would they start anyway? Kennedy is the only guy they have that could out pitch him but do you really think Moose loses his spot to a 22 year old without even half a season in AAA? Just simply, its not going to happen.
i agree mussinas prob not going anywhere but if he were to be moved it would be igawa or steven white the 26 yr old from AAA he has a 3.5 era i think accroding to olney on sportscenter ot baseball tonite yestserdday.. i dont think the yanks would bring up kenedy this yr and theres no chance of joba starting IMO.

And neither of those two are better options than Moose.
As for Kennedy, they almost brought him up last week for a start so I don't think there's any reason they wouldn't bring him up if someone got hurt.
Agreed on Joba. He's in the bullpen to keep his inning count down and isn't going anywhere.
Unless they plan on moving Joba to the rotation, I doubt it will happen. That being said, I hate Mike Mussina with a passion, so this would thrill me if it happened.
If the yanks had a better option, I think they would pull him from the rotation. He has been terrible this year but we do not have another arm to replace him. I would like to see Joba stretched out a little more. Maybe throw more then 1 inning especially if he is going to start next year.
90% of my posts are from complaining about my team
Kennedy is nearing his innings cap for the season, so he won't be called up. The only options right now are Mussina, Igawa, Karstens, and White, and I might just like Igawa best out of those.
