I think part of the reasoning was to give Braun more RBI chances...it was something like over 50% of his HR were solo shots...but I agree that so far, switching Prince and Braun hasn't worked out in Braun's favor...but then again, we couldn't expect Braun to keep up his Herculean pace.
yea yost is horrible w/ lineups. he batted jj hardy 2nd for about two months when he was hitting .200 and when hart goes on a slump and bats .240 he looses his playing time . dont really get yost. he shoulda kept braun 3rd cause fielder was a beast already and he didmt need protectiion but now pitcher s arent throwing as many good pitchers b/c brauns protection is jenkins/hall. move braun back to 3rd!
As guy who owns Prince & the Revolution in a keeper league, I'm very happy with the new batting order
But seriously, did Braun owners think he was gonna continue hitting like the pre-2007 Pujols the entire season? It was inevitable that he was gonna slow down.
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.

Come on SA have you been reading these boards.......YES, people did expect him to keep up his pace.....he's a HOFer who will be a 2nd round pick next year.
I agree it doesn't make sense, but his stats in the 9 games since then have little do w/ that. 9 games is way too small a sample size, and it's not as if moving one spot down in the order, Ryan Braun is suddenly going to say, "OMG! So much pressure, I'm the cleanup hitter now! I can't take it!" and break down sobbing and swinging at every down and away slider he sees.
The reason the switch didn't make sense was b/c Braun's speed is better suited to the 3-hole, where you traditionally put your best pure hitter. The 4 spot goes to your best power hitter, which Fielder obviously is.
the reason the switch DID make sense was to bat jenkins 5th and split up the lefty-lefty in the middle of the order rather than haivng bill .250 hall hitting 5th.

exactly.
It also allows braun to use his speed a little more as nobody is going to risk sending a base-runner with Fielder at the plate.
