I moved Kazmir for Hamels in a keeper league last month. Not only does Kazmir basically do a complete 180 after I move him, now Hamels is hurt. And I thought if either of them was going to get hurt, it was gonna be Kazmir.

They could not have told us Sunday before I set my lineup. Great timing :-P playoffs are just around the corner. Something about young guns on my team that get hurt. Seems like I alway have a pitcher on the dl. Whether its Harden, Hughes, Felix, or Burnett.

Please keep us informed and hopefully he will only miss one start :-o

In a season of major injuries, this could be the worst.

At a time they can least afford it, Cole Hamels will miss tomorrow night's start against the Dodgers because of a mild medial strain in his left elbow. He will have a precautionary MRI tomorrow.

J.D. Durbin will start tomorrow night for the Phillies instead.

"His treatment and how much time he misses will be dependent upon how he feels and that MRI," team physician Michael Ciccotti said.

Ciccotti said Hamels has had some elbow soreness since before he last pitched Thursday in Washington. Hamels, who is 14-5 with a 3.50 ERA, has thrown a career-high 167 1/3 innings this season.

"He pitched in Washington, though," Ciccotti said. "And he felt fine while he was pitching, but it's just persisted and today he brought it to our attention. And as I said, his exam shows a mild medial elbow strain. We'll see what the MRI shows. Obviously, he's going to miss tomorrow. And any time that he might miss subsequent to that will be dependent upon the MRI findings and how quickly his mild pain resolves."

Ciccotti said Hamels could miss a week to three weeks.

F me. I was hoping Hamels could get through this whole season healthy. Now I seriously doubt his ability to hold up during the course of a season given his injury history.

well it could but i think you're WAY ahead of yourselves here. its just a sore elbow really, which a lot of young pitchers get early on in their careers. hes never pitched this amount of innings before. he'll miss the start tomorrow and probably one more. anything else would be a surprise and shock to anyone. cole was talkin after the game and it seemed like this was a precautionary thing.
