I am looking for statistics on either ERA or runs scored by month (or graphically, by date). I am looking for evidence that playing more starting pitchers at certain times of the year (especially April-May) can help my team's ERA/Whip. If it holds true that fewer runs are scored early in the year, and possibly late in the year as well, then I can strategize accordingly, using more of my innings during those times and less during months when hitters are coming out ahead. Anyone know where I can find such statistics?

How good is your statistics knowledge? You'd have to do more than show that ERA is lower, you'd have to show that it's statistically significant. I'd also look at other factors such as batting average.

If you go to the ESPN MLB stats page and use team pitching, you can look at ERA by month. You can do that for several years. I doubt it is consistently a pattern, but I have not looked at it.

I know a bit about statistics, but I'm not interested in proving anything...just using whatever I find (or don't find) for my own gain.
