maybin called up

maybin will be called up accordingt to rotoworld
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/player ... LB&id=4032

Multiple sources report that the Tigers will call up top prospect Cameron Maybin prior to Friday's game against the Yankees.

General manager Dave Dombrowski said last week that Maybin would not play in the majors this season, but both the Detroit Free Press and Asheville Citizen-Times report that those plans have changed. The 10th overall pick in the 2005 draft, Maybin has emerged as one of the elite prospects in baseball at just 20 years old. He was promoted from Single-A to Double-A last week, so a call-up to the big leagues comes as a huge surprise at this point and it's unclear how much playing time he'll get in the Tigers' outfield

wow if they called him up i expect he will play or else why would they call a 20 yr old up.

Maybin, a 20-year-old outfielder, was recently promoted to Erie, where he hit three home runs in his first three games. He was the 10th pick of the 2005 major-league draft.

Maybin's call up is expected to be temporary. Outfielders Craig Monroe and Marcus Thames are hurting. Monroe has the flu, and Thames has a leg injury.

But I could see him sticking if he does well, I gotta see if I can fit him somehow on the roster.

The Tigers are going to DFA Monroe and send Infante down to the minors and call up Maybin and Santiago.

Looks like Maybin is gonna stick around, and could possibly start at LF over Thames.

both local radio stations reporting the same thing

Fantasy wise i'm not sure how much value he has, probably worth a flyer in deep leagues...in a full season i could see .300/20/20

when maybin develops he is being compared to Soriano. I could see Pence type numbers if he gets full time at bats this year. He will play a lot in left field. Monroe is gone and Thames is hurting. Rayburn will get chances all over the field.

I have also heard him compared to Vlad (when he stole bases).
