If someone else wins the NL MVP award they will not deserve it, IMO. Hanley Ramirez's stats are unfriggen real. At his current pace, if you plug in 633 ab's, which is what he had last year, his stat line will look something like this:
Avg. HR RBI Runs Sb's .344 30 84 126 51
if that doesn't get ya MVP, I don't know what will...
HanRam's stats are definitely out of this world. But the MVP could easily go to Reyes for the combo of great stats and a winning team (the Marlins are 4th in the DIVISION, for crying out loud). Hell, I might even say Peavy or Young from San Diego if they pull their terrible offense into the playoffs w/ their pitching.
I see Hanley Ramirez having 40-40 potential one day. He has the stats for the MVP, just that he's not on the right team unfortunately. He's been amazing, I would say best sophomore, from the INSANE rookie class of last year, with Papelbon, Verlander, Martin, Fielder etc. following behind. An amazing player, best SS in the game, what else is there to say about him? Expect great things from this guy for years to come.

Reyes? Common. That he was an All-Star over Ramirez is enough of a joke, but MVP? If it's anyone on the Mets, it's Wright.
But of course it isn't anyone on the Mets; right now, your NL MVP is Chipper Jones.
Okay, okay. Or Utley. Okay, fine, probably Utley.

im pretty sure you havent always had that viewpoint
as for 40/40 potential someday? he already possesses that "potential" but the 40 knocks will be hard to come by.
hanley will not win the mvp no matter what. even if he somehow gets to 30/50, which he probably will not, the fact that he plays for the marlins eliminates him.
