Accept this unfair trade

Postby lcp0209 » Thu Aug 16, 2007 4:22 pm

I am in a league with my dad and he has offered me david ortiz and jeff francis for Carlos Delgado and chad cordero. He does legitimately need saves and I need offense and wins. When he proposed the deal he stated. and I think to some extent he believes this "I think this helps us both out, and plus I dont think I can come back anyway." (its his first year playing fantasy sports).

1) Is this trade grossly unfair?
2) Should (not can) I accept. The money league is between a group of friends and I would not want them to feel like we are colluding to win.

"I think this helps us both out, and plus I dont think I can come back anyway."

The trade itself isn't so terrible to me but his last statement smells a bit like collusion to me.

The trade is pretty fair actually. Papi is struggling with the bad shoulder and his power has been sapped, so the upgrade from Delgado is about the same as from Francis to Cordero, especially with the saves need.

Don't really like that statement from your Dad, but if I was one of your leaguemates and I saw the deal without seeing the chatter, I wouldn't have a problem with the deal.

I think the trade is fair. Francis for Cordero is pretty much even (wins for saves) and an unhealthy Ortiz for a mediocre season from Delgado should not warrant an uproar - even if it is a family deal.
