I heard he was released by the Yankees on OLD TIMERS Day . If true he was a hell of a lot more loyal to the Yankees then they were to him.
He used to write W/W on his score card. Bill White who was his broadcast partner asked him. What does that mean? he said. Wasn't Watching.He was a classic. He was one of the best.
