Not the most amazing thing ever, but I just found out that my new home was last owned by a former NFL player.

Actually, that is pretty cool! I live two doors down from the last QB to lead Nebraska to a Mythical National Championship, and I think that's pretty interesting too. We read about these guys all the time - it's kind of neat to have something more than a passing knowledge of them.

His kids took it when they cleaned out the house, but it was just sitting there for anyone to take... er... look at when been shown the home. It was in a ziploc bag with a piece of tape on it that read "The Real Deal."

Or playing baseball with it in a sandlot and then a kid hits a homer with it over the fence into the yard with this really mean and scary dog and then they go through a bunch of funny plans to try and get the ball back because they just discovered that the ball was worth something and no matter what they try they aren't able to get the ball so a kid has to go in and plays pickle with the dog and the dog almost gets him but then he gets away and James Earl Jones is there and he is blind and he gives the original owner of the ball a better ball anyway.

I lived in this old crappy Victorian house for a couple years when I first moved to Eugene OR with some friends. Quite a few people told us that Charles Manson used to live in the house. I think it was a bunch of BS though, I don't think Charlie ever lived in Oregon.

A DJ for the local punk radio show did live in the house right before us...not nearly as interesting though.
