Hughs and Chamberlain

Postby JetsJohn » Sun Aug 12, 2007 10:04 am

It's only been one game where we got to see these guys recently, but is anyone else as excited as I am about the way the pitching staff looks with these two in the fold?

Hughs fills the rotation hole named Igawa. Vizcaino and Chamberlain make the bridge to Mariano. Ron Villone fills in long relief from time to time. Farnsworth finds a dark hole to crawl into and die. What more could you ask for?

Another bullpen arm to emerge.

Chamberlain and Vizcaino aren't going to be enough. Torre first of all needs to figure out that Villone is pitching well and they need someone else like Britton or Bruney to become decent enough to use with a 2 run lead in the 7th.

The team looks real good though.

And as far as Hughes, I've been looking forward to him for years. Same with Chamberlain for the past year. The rotation is going to be quite good in the next couple years with Wang, Hughes, Chamberlain and Kennedy. Hopefully they can build a bullpen too.

And Edwar. He's killing it in Scranton. He needs to get back up to the Bronx, and if Torre won't use him, Cashman needs to MAKE Torre use him. :-[

Who are they doing to send down then?

Brower is the only guy I can think of. Bruney and Britton are guys I'd like to see up in the near future as well.

Brower def. has to go. Last night's performance underlines that. Karstens can probably go too, although I'd expect to see him back when rosters expand.

On an unrelated note - do we know anything about Darrell Rasner? I haven't heard a peep about his recovery.

No question Karstens and Brower needed to go after yesterday. I was pissed when they brought up Brower in the first place by sending down Bruney. I'm still waiting to see Britton finally get his chance.
