Anyone have any update on his progress and whether he's expected to be activated when eligible next week?

originally it was thought he would spend 3 weeks or more on DL, meaning another week+ on DL.

but article in yesterdays AJC reports:
Renteria healing quickly

Renteria is recovering faster than expected from his high-ankle sprain, and manager Bobby Cox said the veteran shortstop should be back soon after he's eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Saturday.

The Braves initially feared Renteria could miss three weeks or more.

"He's coming along real good, better than expected," Cox said. "I don't know if he can play [Saturday], but shortly thereafter probably."
"ATLANTA SHORTSTOP EDGAR RENTERIA HAS LEFT THE GAME IN THE TOP OF THE FIRST INNING WITH AN UNDISCLOSED INJURY." - Yahoo

Funny thing is I was literally two seconds away from dropping Escobar, had the confirmation screen up and everything.
Anyone know what's up?

He get injured taking a practice swing or something?

this is amazing...here i was excited to get Rents bat back in the lineup, esp. with his fill in F.Lopez going 2 for his last 23. Rent out without even 1 AB, Lopez goes 2-2 in his 1st 2 AB's. WONDERFUL!!!! :-t

I dropped escobar and picked up Betancourt because I thought escobar would lose some at bats this week. I am not sure if I should drop Betancourt for escobar again :-?
