About a month ago, I lost a game by 4 points. I had Garett Olson, who inexplicably was only RP eligible even though he clearly was a starter. I didn't want to use him over one of my closers, but had he been SP eligible as he should have been, I would have used him (I said such at the time). Olsen got 13, neither of my closers ended up pitching.
Anyway, even though he has been in the minors, CBS has switched his eligibilty to SP. And here I sit, 1 game out of the playoffs feeling like I got screwed.
One of the commish's in another league of mine thinks that's not right: "cbs makes no sense...that's wrong that they changed him to SP when they didn't do that for other guys," he said... referring to the likes of Guthrie, Owings etc who needed 5 starts in their given year to gain the SP eligibility they should have had to begin with.
no, why? you're upset more in retrospect because you see yourself 1 game out of the playoffs. eligibility is something you can't change so you just have to go with how CBS decides to handle it.
Yahoo has had Olson as a SP all season long as he should have been. CBS' mishandling of this could well cost me the playoffs, and I'm sure others have been affected. And seeing how I *DO* pay for that site, I don't see how I should be jumping up and down.
2 - Kyle Kendrick has SP, RP eligibility. He has never been a RP.
3 - SP prospects like joba, carlos carrasco, wade davis, donald veal, scott elbert, anthony swarzak, wade townsend... all are RP. Why? They are not RP.
4 - Meanwhile other SP prospects like Lofgren and Gallardo just have SP eligibility.
I think you should show CBS you mean business and boycott them in this league for the rest of the 2007 baseball season. Don't make any moves or even go to the site. That should bring the whole CBS Corp beast crumbling down!
