I know you said that this deal already went through, but I can't believe anyone thinks that it is THAT unfair. This is nowhere near vetoable... 2007 Buehrle (aka Berlee) is nowhere near the pitcher he was a few years ago. And Melky since the All-Star game has been on fire.

I had a "know it all" in the league who was put in his place thanks to this thread. I agree with everything you just said.

I take Yahoo rankings like I take tabloid news but there are 2 things to consider. The first is need. If the guy getting Cabrera needed an OF, why not make this deal?? Sure, Cabrera might end up being a marginal WW OF but the same could be said about Buehrle. Buehrle has contributed nothing but a solid ERA and a decent WHIP. Over the past month, Cabrera is the 7th ranked OF while Buehrle is the 107th ranked SP. Even if you want to take the "Melky stinks but is just riding a hot streak" attitude, then it is a case of sell high/buy low. I don't see how anyone could have an issue with this deal.
