I could really use some advice on my roster:
C-Paul Lo Duca
1B-Todd Helton
2B-Luis Castillo
3B-Eric Henske
SS-Jimmy Rollins
OF-Chipper Jones, Steve Finley, Robert Fick
Util-Orlando Cabrera
Bench-Aramis Ramirez, Josh Phelps,Jeff Cirillo, Michael Young
SP-Curt Shilling, Kevin Millwood
RP-Eddie Guardado, J.C. Romero
P-Eric Milton, LaTroy Hawkins, Mike Stanton, Tony Aramas Jr.
There's a big question of how often Fick is going to play, considering how heavy the Braves are in the OF - he's probably your weakest link. Other than that, the team looks pretty good, although having a SS at util is rarely wise. You could probably pick an OF off waivers who'd hit better than Cabrera. Or, of course, you can play Josh Phelps, who could easily hit 30HR's this year. He seems to be going in the last few rounds of most 12-team drafts, which is a steal for that kind of production. Imagine how useful he'd be if he qualified for a position!
Your rotation looks decent too, although it drops off sharply after Shilling and Millwood and Guardado. You're gonna have to keep your eye on the waiver wire early in the year, and don't be afraid to pick up any young pitcher that has a hot start.
Well, Fick has considerable upside, so I'd hold onto him, but it'd be nice to pick up an OF who's more likely to play everyday. Brian Jordan might be a good pickup, although I'm not entirely sure he'll play everyday either.
The reason I went with Fick is that he had decent production in Det. (where home runs go to die), and I figured the move to Atlanta would do him some good. They say he will be there first baseman (although his defense is a question mark), so i thought that with the chance to play everyday, and the protection of Jones, Jones, Sheffield, would do him some good. And again, i appreciate the help, I am really looking forward to the season starting.
