I could see this strategy if you believed he wasn't going to play the whole week. And you being a Cubs fan, I'd be inclined to believe you if you said this is the case. But half a week of A-ram is better than a full week of 0 fors from the best 3rd baseman on the wire. I seem to remember the last time this happened, he came back and hit up a storm. He's staying in my lineup this week unless I have reason to believe he is going to be out the whole week. As it is, I have no reason to believe he isn't going to be in there tomorrow.

They've been sitting him at least once a week for the last month now, and his power has drastically dropped off. I'm plugging in Nomar for now to ride the hot bat. I guess I'd say I'm about 50/50 on thinking he'll be playing all 6 games this week. The injury seemed to come up out of nowhere, and while I'm a Cubs fan, I'm not a big fan of how up front they are with injuries. But I hope he does come back and hit 4 HRs for you (and my Cubs) this week, just so he can help the playoff run.
To be honest, my freaking team is so dinged up right now, I'm just trying to maintain 3rd or get lucky and get 2nd for the first round bye right now. Regular season title is probably out of reach.

Okay. Here I am eating my words. I just looked on the waiver wire, and was surprised to find Gordon there. I picked him up, and now I actually have a decision to make. So even if A-Ram gets one day off, he would still be playing 5 games, which isn't all that bad. I'm afraid to bench him, because the last time I did, he came in on that Thursday, and hit a few HRs over the weekend before I could get him in the lineup...

I did the exact same thing as you did last time. But, the last injury was a leg injury, not a wrist. If this has been nagging him lately, maybe that's the reason for his power outage over the last month. That would be the one thing that makes me think that even if he comes back this week, we're not going to see 2-3 HRs. I'll be more than happy to eat my words though, if it means that the Cubs finally put together a winning streak.

Funny thing is that after you told me your opinion, I posted a thread to the Who to start Forum just to get other opinions, and decided I was going to bench A-Ram, but never got back to the computer to do it... so he is in my lineup. So far it a decent mistake to have made.
