Well it's already been posted in three other places, but it could be used here to discuss how much he'll sit now that the record has fallen. Anybody think he might be pretty useless for the rest of the season? I think he could see a lot more days off.

Being a staunch Pirates fan I have followed Barry 'USA' Bonds for his whole carrer since coming out of Arizona State.

I loved him on my Buccos! The greatest all around player I've ever seen on any team at any time in baseball. Period.

His record deserves an asterick because he did juice. Anyone who has read Game of Shadows knows the facts. By the way, that is 1 of the 10 greatest sports books ever written. However...Bonds is 1 of a boatload of players during the past 15 years that have taken performance-enhancing drugs. He just had more talent then all of the other guys who took steriods.

Even if Bonds didn't juice he would have been a first ballot Hall of Fame player. Period.

Bonds was great and putting up good numbers when he was skinny kid playing in Pittsburgh. He also won 8 Gold Gloves.

He cheated and deserves an asterick, but he was great without the juice!

I find it comical that the only person who put a thumbs down and had complete negativity towards Bonds in this thread has a Cardinals avatar... did Marky boy get a thumbs down when he hit 70?

A Cardinal avatar? I believe that's David Ortiz ;-)

Who said I liked Mark? I believe he took steroids just as much as I believe Bonds took steroids.

This HR is also going to have a big effect on the borderline Giants. Guys such as Winn, Feliz, and Klesko all lose some value as their RBI totals are going to drop without BB on base every time.... On the other hand, I think Dave Roberts could gain some value from this as it should make him steal more bases...
